We need an Oregon State Park Youth Ambassador (2010)

If you are between the ages of 16-26, and think you’d be Oregon’s best volunteer to promote our state parks and healthy, active, outdoor lifestyles, we want to hear from you!

America’s State Parks  and the Outdoor Foundation are featuring a new initiative where youth from around the nation will collaborate on a media and marketing campaign to promote outdoor recreation in the nation’s state parks, including Oregon State Parks.

Oregon’s Youth Ambassador will document his or her outdoor experiences—from the extreme to the everyday—through the use of photos and HD videos created on donated cameras provided by Olympus. Together with articles, vlogs (video blogs), and photo essays, Oregon’s ambassador will “tell the story” of outdoor enthusiasts and adventurists in our state and get the chance to travel to Washington DC as the campaign progresses.

The Youth Ambassador is an unpaid volunteer and must be able to travel around the state during the next year capturing images and creating dynamic vlogs to promote the natural, cultural and wellness value of Oregon’s state parks.

Want to apply? Call or e-mail Jill Nishball, OPRD Youth Services Coordinator, at 503-986-0752.
