Still holiday shopping? (2010)

How about a camping gift certificate?

Emigrant Springs cabin in the snow

The cabins at Emigrants Springs State Heritage Area are open year-round.

Gift cards for camping equipment make great presents and stocking stuffers. Now, you can give the camping experience.

State park gift certificates open the Oregon outdoor experience to camping enthusiasts (or those that haven’t camped before!).  And, the certificates don’t expire.

Gift givers can buy the certificates by calling the state park information center at 1-800-551-6949 and pay using a Visa or MasterCard. The certificates also are sold at major park offices throughout the state.

Certificates can be redeemed at a campground registration booth for sites available on a first come, first-served basis. To use a certificate when reserving a site, the holder must reserve by telephone and then mail the certificate as payment, or part of a payment, within five days after booking. The reservation number is 1-800-452-5687. The certificates cannot be used with online reservations.

  1. Why can you not use the gift card for online reservations?? we make reservations online for different times of the year and if you have to mail the gift card back to the office for payment what is the purpose of even offering a gift card? a Visa or Mastercard gift card makes more sense and would save State money on cards that are combersome and not very useful. I sure wish I would have seen this before asking for State Parks gift cards!!!! Not next year
