Astoria is the perfect setting for the 2011 conference theme “A Blockbuster Community: Heritage, Authenticity and Vision.” Registration is now open for workshops, lectures, reenactments and walking tours.

Several conference events are free to the public, including  sessions on “Astoria’s 1st Presidential Visit” and “Astoria’s Military Heritage.”  The “Oregon at the Movies” night at the historic Columbian Theater is free. All the movies were filmed in Oregon, and you might recognize several state park settings in the scenes. The  Oregon Heritage Excellence Awards Banquet ($35 advance ticket sale, $45 at the door), will feature a reenactment of a women’s suffrage debate.

See the conference schedule for dates, times and locations.
