William Tugman State Park adds six pet friendly yurts (2013)

Eight rustic yurts now open to pets

William Tugman pet friendly yurt

The original two, pet friendly yurts at William Tugman State Park were popular, and Park Manager Radeena Lee knew that additional ones would be welcomed by pet owners. “The pet-friendly yurts were always full,” Lee said. “Now we’ve opened our yurt doors to more families with pets.”

Tugman sits along freshwater Eel Lake, eight miles south of Reedsport on the southern Oregon coast. A trail along the south end of the lake is a great place to walk for both pets and owners. Do you like to fish? Check the Oregon Sports Fishing Regulations for the southwest region for information on fin-clipped steelhead and rainbow trout fishing. Tugman is also near Umpqua Lighthouse and the Oregon Dunes Recreation Area.

Ready to reserve a yurt? Call 1-800-452-5687 (online reservations unavailable). There’s an optional $10 per night contribution to help us cover the costs to keep these units open. Limit 2 pets.

  1. fantastic for those lucky folks who love their dogs like family and camp with them

  2. keep adding more

  3. love tugman park.restrooms always clean. the hosts and park rangers very friendly.

  4. Tugman is a beautiful place to camp. Sites are well maintained & the campground always has friendly hosts, not to mention wonderful walking trails along the lake’s shore. For those who want a longer walk (or a short drive) take the time to walk to Hall Lake and climb the dunes. Beautiful ocean views & a wonderful way to spend a lazy camp day. My dogs LOVE camping at Tugman. If you are a kayaker, then the lake is a must paddle. Scenic, pristine & relaxing since it is a no-wake lake for boats.

  5. so beautiful! I would love to stay there!

  6. Yes! So awesome that you added more sites for yurt-loving doggers! Thanks a lot!
