Eagle Watch set for Feb. 23-24 at Round Butte Overlook Park near The Cove Palisades (2013)

2013 Eagle Watch at The Cove Palisades

People flock to Lake Billy Chinook for one weekend in February to celebrate birds of prey. Breeding pairs of both bald and golden eagles live year-round in the lands surrounding the lake.  Between January and March, migratory bald eagles from throughout North America join the permanent residents.

“Eagle Watch is a great time to see them in a spectacular setting. And, all events are free!” says Oregon State Parks’ Paul Patton. Event Schedule

PGE Round Butte Overlook Park (park description) is just north of The Cove Palisades State Park (park description). The Cove Palisades State Park offers year-round camping. Call 1-800-452-5687 for campsite and cabin reservations, or online at www.oregonstateparks.org.
