Grand Ronde Tribal History of Western Oregon

Tryon Creek State Natural Area welcomes David Harrelson for a night of local history March 11, 7-8:30 p.m. He will share the history of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde from pre-European contact, through treaties and relocation and into the present. Harrelson is Kalapuya and a member of The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Community of Oregon. He works for his community as the Cultural Protection Specialist for the Tribal Historic Preservation Office.

The presentation will be held at the Nature Center.  It’s free!

  1. Meant to leave a note in our yurt last weekend (March 2 & 3) but forgot. We discovered a family of racoons has a virtual smorgasbord under Yurt 42. One managed to steal a container of very spicy dip from our cooler on the picnic table (while we out there!). Maybe they’ll think twice after that theft! Anyhow, just wanted you to know what we discovered.
