Grant’s Getaways — Digging Oregon Sunstones (2015)

The sunstone is Oregon’s state gemstone. Do you know where to find them?

Where is Plush, Oregon?

Plush is about 40 miles northeast of Lakeview and the sunstone area is about 25 miles north of Plush — on gravel and dirt roads. The map shows the general location of the mines and Bureau of Land Management ( link opens the BLM sunstone brochure) public collection area in relation to Plush. Please do your own research for driving directions.  Take water, sunscreen, food and an appreciation for sagebrush and a vast landscape.
